The craziest scuba dive I have done was with my son between the tectonic plates in Silfra, Iceland, during a crazy snowstorm, with Dive.is. This is us just before we got into the water. It was so cold, and the wind was blowing so hard, that we couldn’t wait until we got into the water which was warmer than the air temperature.
I had planned to use my GoPro on top of my camera to video the dive but it was so cold that the battery died. While the water had easily 100 feet of visibility, the lack of light made taking pictures difficult. We did not have a chance to do any buoyancy checks, as the other snorkelers wanted to get it over with, and we needed to stay with the group. This meant we were rushing to get into the water, and had to deal with far more lead weight than we needed for freshwater and getting used to diving in our dry suits again.

We both were able to touch the North American and European tectonic plates.

Even with limited overhead light a quick break in the storm allowed for this photo to show the clarity and the pathway through the plates.
